Aldringham

'A Smugglers' Hideaway....'


Aldringham, is an atractive village and a parish in Blything district, Suffolk. The village stands near the coast and near the Aldborough railway, 3 miles north of Aldborough. It was formerly a market town and it still has fairs on the 11th of October and the 1st of December.

Thorpeness, Aldeburgh,the RSPB bird Reserve at Minsmere, Framlingham and Orford Castles, the Snape Maltings with it's internationally famous concert hall and the The Long Shop Museum are all within easy travelling distance.

River trips are available at Orford, Aldeburgh and Snape.

The Parrot and Punchbowl Inn and Restaurant is close by with a reputation as a former smugglers' hideaway. A warm welcome and excellent food are always guaranteed.
