Snape
'A World Famous Music Venue....'
Snape is a small village in the English county of Suffolk, on the River Alde close to Aldeburgh. It has about 600 inhabitants.

Snape is now best known for Snape Maltings, no longer in commercial use, but converted into a tourist centre together with a concert hall that hosts the major part of the annual Aldeburgh Festival.
Severus Snape, of Harry Potter fame, was named after the village.
For a decade from 1937 to 1947 and long before the Maltings Concert Hall brought the village international fame, Snape was Benjamin Britten's home and his base during one of his most creative periods.
"Snape is just heaven", the composer wrote to a friend soon after he had bought what had been Hudson's Mill with money left to him by his mother.
Snape is located in the centre of An Area of Natural Outstanding beauty along the River Alde.
The River Alde was once the town's main source of prosperity. What was then a flourishing port sent four ships to fight the Spanish Armada.
It has a wide variety of shopping from traditional to modern.
The peaceful lowland heaths, estuary and coastal walks make Snape an attractive area to visit time and time again.
